The Bounding Bush

Subpages

Located in one of Twilight City’s out-of-the-way open spaces, such that it’s a decidedly local establishment and not often visited by those passing through the way station, in one corner of which has been erected a series of pavillion-style structures that form an eating, drinking and entertainment area; as Lia approaches, she can hear what might be live music emanating.  Around the pavillions, a long, narrow garden bed has been dug into the floor of the area and within it grows a thick and slightly woolly hedge, reaching to shoulder height, that forms a boundary between the establishment and the surrounding space.

A gap in the hedge seems to be the main entrance, next to it a sign:  The Bounding Bush

Of one penetrates beyond the bush, she sees an establishment that might resemble a sprawling eclectic picnic or perhaps an outdoor function on a world with a habitable biosphere.  There’s a low stage with a live three-piece band, a bar where both dink and food can be ordered, a partitioned-off area (the beer garden) which is more insulated from the music.  Seating and tables are lightweight and movable, additional bushes in pots dot the area.

One may find hardcopy menus in a stack at the bar.

The venue has some notoriety as a pick-up joint for the local homosexual community.

“Opinions are divided; lots of people like the relaxed atmosphere, others seem to think it’s down-market, loud and chaotic.  That’s mostly in Blue-Red though and I’m usually here in Green, maybe both are true…”
